Job description

Teaching Assistant

Pay Rate: April 2025 - £13.75 per hour / £82.51 per day.

Full time: 8:30 – 3:30, Monday – Friday

Contract: Temporary, with the potential of a permanent contract offer.

Start date: 28th April 2025

At Teaching Personnel, we are proud to be working with a secondary school in Chepstow which specializes in supporting young people with additional learning needs. We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to start on the 28th April 2025 to work on a full-time basis to support a range of pupils in both 1:1 and small group settings.

The pupils' ages range between 11 – 19 and they have a variety of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH. Candidates with experience in a school setting are encouraged to apply, although this is not essential. A background in care or personal experience will also be advantageous. Training will be provided within the school.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and provide support for pupils.
  • Be versatile and comfortable adapting plans to cater for different situations.
  • Build relationships, gaining trust and understanding the needs of the pupil.
  • Tailor activities to be demanding and challenging to encourage pupil learning and development.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm to work with pupils who need additional time to progress.

Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS cleared & on the update service (or willing to apply).
  • Registered on the Education Workforce Council (or willing to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
