Teaching Personnel Birmingham are appointing a teaching assistant on a full-time basis to work in one of our secondary schools in Rugeley (WS15).

Teaching Assistants play an integral role in the day-to-day life within a school and can provide specialist, tailored support to all pupils.

Pay Rate: £89-95 per day (dependent upon experiences)

Hours: Full Time (Mon- Fri 8:30-15:05)

Start Date: ASAP

Qualifications/Experiences:

1. GCSEs in English and Maths
2. Relevant teaching assistant qualifications (L1-3, desired but not essential)
3. Relevant previous experience working as a teaching assistant
4. Knowledge and understanding of children with special educational needs
5. Previous experience working with children and young people with special educational needs
6. Organised and flexible with the ability to adapt to new environments

Job Role:

1. Support the class teacher with the delivery of activities within each class under the direction of the main class teacher
2. Show initiative and work autonomously within the classroom where possible
3. Work closely with students on a 1:1 and small group basis to support their learning and development
4. Provide tailored learning support to pupils with special educational needs and adapt activities to suit their learning styles
5. Be an approachable individual and provide a listening ear to pupils and staff alike
6. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils
