Job description

Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education are recruiting for candidates who are looking to build their experience of working with children/in schools.

We are looking for passionate individuals who are wanting to build a career in working with children. We can offer full or part time hours. You do not need any qualifications or experience but the drive and passion to make a difference to the lives of children. You will mostly be working alongside the class teacher to provide support to the children and in some cases on a 1:1 basis. The needs of the children can vary, and in some cases the children may have complex learning difficulties.

The role of a teaching assistant can be a challenging one so patience, a friendly approach and a good sense of humour are required.

The Role;

  1. To work alongside the class teacher in supporting children with their learning
  2. To manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they undertake their work and ensuring a constructive and positive environment is always enforced
  3. De-escalating situations within the classroom in the correct way ensuring that safeguarding procedures are always adhered to
  4. Carrying out small group work and working with children with additional needs
  5. Reporting any safeguarding concerns using the school’s referral procedures and safeguarding policies.
