Job Role: Teaching Assistant (Primary School Based)


Location: Ellesmere Port


Days/Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (Flexible) (8:30am - 15:30pm)


Pay: £80 - £95 per day (Depending on age, experience, and qualifications)


Are you interested in supporting children in Primary Schools across Ellesmere Port? Then this role is for you! We supply staff to primary schools and secondary schools every day across Chester and Cheshire.

About the Role:
  1. Working in classrooms with groups of children aged between 3 and 11 (Nursery to Year 6) and supporting their learning journey.
  2. Following instructions and guidance given by the class teacher.
  3. Ensuring children's safety in and out of the classroom.
  4. Supervising children during break and lunchtime.
  5. Aiding the Teacher, offering another perspective to the student if they are struggling to understand.
  6. Helping with lesson plans.
  7. Observing and providing feedback to the class teacher about the children's learning and progression.
  8. Effectively managing off-task behaviours.

About You:
  1. Although qualifications are an advantage, you do not need any compulsory qualifications for this position.
  2. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (we can assist you in applying for this).
  3. Experience working with children or adults in a caring capacity.
  4. Transferrable skills such as teamwork, initiative, flexibility, adaptability, remaining calm under pressure, caring, and helpful.
  5. Experience working with students with challenging behaviour.
  6. Examples of situations where you have dealt with a challenging situation.
  7. Effective solutions to deal with challenging behaviour (with examples if not stated above).
  8. A calming attitude that relaxes the student if they are stressed or angry.
  9. Easy to communicate with and approachable.
  10. Supportive when students ask questions or for help.
  11. A never say no mindset.
