Teaching Assistant

Are you flexible, patient, caring and confident with children and young people? Teaching Assistant required for a mainstream secondary school in Bristol, BS4.

Start ASAP, ongoing to August 2025.
£90 - £125 per day, depending on experience.
37 hours per week, Term Time only.
Up to £125 per day for candidates with extensive experience or qualifications such as Teaching Assistant at NVQ Level 2 or above.

Not only will you gain invaluable first-hand experience in a secondary school environment, you will also have the opportunity to network with Speech and Language specialists and ELSA practitioners based at the school. About the role

1. Working in a mainstream secondary school that has a high number of pupils with SEND needs.
2. Deliver classroom support for Key Stage 3 pupils either 1:1 or groups of students.
3. Understand and support independent learning and inclusion of all students as required.
4. Support the teaching in monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress.
5. Monitor and manage stock and supplies for the classroom.
6. Supervise students between lessons and when entering and leaving the school.

The right candidate

1. Maths and English GCSE grade A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent.
2. Experience of working with young people, particularly those with SEND needs.
3. Confident to converse with parents, students and members of the public.
4. Good ICT skills.
