Job description

Radley College is inviting applications for the role of Teacher of Physics from September 2025 (or January 26 if a September start is not possible).

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual who is eager to contribute to our thriving Physics department. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality teaching, setting high academic standards, and inspiring students to engage with the subject in a deep and meaningful way. Enthusiasm for the subject, coupled with the ability to challenge students both inside and outside the classroom, is essential.

An experienced teacher seeking a move into a strong department will find there is plenty of opportunity for responsibility and career development at Radley. We have also had much success in inducting those who are new to the profession. Thus, we also welcome applications from those who are just finishing their studies.

Radley College is committed to the highest standards of professionalism and quality in our teaching, and can provide opportunities for teacher training and development. We have an increasingly diverse pupil intake and we are looking to increase diversity within our Common Room. We therefore encourage and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Some of our staff joined Radley straight from university, others after taking a PGCE. Some had taught in independent schools, others had not – and some had not taught before. For some, teaching has become their second (or third) career. There may be opportunities for those who don’t have teaching experience to gain a PGCE during their time at Radley.

This position comes with accommodation that is free of rent, council tax, and water rates.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon, Tuesday 22 April, but we reserve the right to consider applications as they arrive. Interviews will take place Monday 28 April. Please also state the date by which you have to give notice to your current employer for a September start. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the vacancy, please email the Head of Department, Sophie Constantine (sec.constantine@radley.org.uk).
