The Role:

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on your experience and the school's curriculum.
  • Lead and direct school choirs, preparing students for performances and competitions.
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities, including individual and group instruction.
  • Inspire students to develop a lifelong love of music and appreciate its diverse forms and genres.
  • Contribute to the development and enrichment of the Music curriculum
  • Utilize innovative teaching methodologies and technology to enhance learning
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Music department and across the wider school community.
  • Participate in departmental and whole-school initiatives, including concerts, music festivals, and community outreach programs.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Possesses a strong background in Music, with a relevant degree from a reputable university or conservatoire.
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of successful Music teaching in a secondary school setting
  • Is an enthusiastic and engaging educator with a genuine passion for Music and a desire to inspire young minds
  • Has excellent subject knowledge across all key stages, including music theory, history, and performance.
  • Has experience in leading and directing choirs.
  • Is committed to fostering a love of learning and promoting creativity and confidence in all students
  • Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
  • Is a reflective practitioner who is committed to continuous professional development
