Job Description

Job Title: Main Scale Teacher

Reporting to: Head of Department

Grade: M1-UPS3

Purpose of the post: To provide high quality teaching and learning, raise standards of attainment, and ensure the progress, achievement, and enjoyment of all pupils.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning:

  • Promote the Catholic ethos of the school.
  • Support the school vision.
  • Contribute to the School Improvement Plan.
  • Support high standards and achievement.
  • Encourage all pupils in the subject.
  • Stay informed about educational developments.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities.
  • Participate in the Performance Management cycle.
  • Involve in departmental and school monitoring.
  • Fulfill corporate responsibilities and ensure adherence to school rules.
  • Be punctual and ready for lessons.
  • Dismiss pupils in an orderly fashion.
  • Maintain excellent attendance.
  • Plan and teach high-quality lessons.
  • Assess pupils’ work according to school policies.
  • Keep an up-to-date planner and markbook.
  • Produce high-quality reports and profiles.
  • Contribute to departmental documentation.
  • Assist with departmental tasks as directed.
  • Enforce school guidelines for work presentation.

Special Conditions of Service

Due to the nature of the post, candidates must disclose any convictions as required by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemptions) Order 1975. Candidates will need to undergo Police checks and provide written permission for information regarding their convictions.
