Long-term opportunity covering English in oversubscribed Wirral secondary school.

Your new company
Hays Education are supporting a thriving and oversubscribed secondary school located in the heart of the Wirral. This large school prides itself on their commitment to academic excellence and our supportive, inclusive community. Our school is dedicated to nurturing the potential of every student and providing a stimulating environment for both staff and students. This is a full-time opportunity, covering KS3 and KS4 English, to start immediately after the Easter break, on an ongoing basis. Job share options could be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons to students of varying abilities across KS3 and KS4.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Develop and implement effective classroom management strategies.
  • Cover lessons across various subjects in the absence of regular teachers.
  • Support the school's ethos and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in English or a related field.
  • Experience teaching English at the secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to cover a range of subjects when needed.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to student success.
