Job Title: Teacher of English

Location: Sheffield, S9
Salary Range: £155 - £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start time: Immediate
Contract: Full-time, Temp to Perm

Are you a dedicated and inspiring English Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity in a thriving secondary mainstream school in Sheffield?

Join GSL Education as a committed Teacher of English for a well-established secondary school in Sheffield.

As a Teacher of English, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons, nurturing students' love for literature and language. You will inspire confidence in reading, writing, and communication, helping students develop essential skills for their future.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in English, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum.
  2. Foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students.
  3. Use innovative teaching methodologies to enhance learning and student engagement.
  4. Monitor student progress and provide targeted support and feedback to enhance achievement.
  5. Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that caters to diverse student needs.
  6. Contribute to curriculum development and collaborate with colleagues on department initiatives.
  7. Support students with coursework, exam preparation, and career guidance related to English.

Requirements:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent.
  2. A strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching English.
  3. The ability to engage and inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities.
  4. Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to high expectations.
  5. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
