Salary: Inner London MPS - UPS (£38,766 - £60,092)

Teacher of Art - the school:

The Art department plays a vital role in offering students the opportunity to express themselves and explore different forms of creativity. In recent years, they have invested heavily into their facilities, and the Art department is no exception. There are spaces for both 2D and 3D work, as well as a digital suite for exploring the latest in creative technologies.

In addition to excellent teaching, the school offers a range of extracurricular activities, including art clubs, trips to galleries, and opportunities to showcase student work in annual exhibitions.

Teacher of Art - responsibilities:

  1. Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and creative Art lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with the potential to extend to Key Stage 5).
  2. Encourage students to explore a variety of media, techniques, and artistic styles.
  3. Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes creativity and self-expression.
  4. Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
  5. Participate in extracurricular activities and exhibitions to showcase student work.
  6. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the integration of art across the curriculum.
  7. Maintain a well-organized and inspiring classroom environment.

Teacher of Art - requirements:

  1. UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  2. An undergraduate degree in Art, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  3. Experience teaching Art at secondary school level (KS3-KS4; KS5 experience is a bonus).
  4. A strong portfolio of your own artistic work.
  5. Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  6. A passion for inspiring students to explore and develop their creativity.
  7. Commitment to continuous professional development.
