About the Role

This is a part-time role: 18.5 hours per week.

Leeds City College is looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational English Teacher to join the School of Hair Beauty and Media Makeup, based at our Printworks campus, to plan and deliver inspirational GCSE lessons to our students.

The School of Hair Beauty and Media Makeup offers a number of courses, ranging from Level 1 to Level 4.

What You Will Do

1. Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans that inspire learners.
2. Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
3. Create individual SMART learning targets linked to learner study programme/course.
4. Be responsible for recording student progress.
5. Maintain and update knowledge of the subject and/or vocational area.
6. Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.

About You

1. Must have a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE) and a relevant highest level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject.
2. You will be a passionate and enthusiastic educator with experience in teaching GCSE English to students at different levels within the secondary or FE sector.
3. A keen eye for detail and the ability to plan exciting and differentiated learning materials is essential to this role.
4. The ability to track and monitor progress in order to ensure learners reach their full potential will be a fundamental aspect of this role.
5. Willingness to go the extra mile to ensure students not only enjoy their learning experience but are fully prepared for their final assessments.
