Job description

Atomic is delighted to be partnering with an independent Firm, based in Central London, looking to add a Tax Trainee to their team. They are one of the leading music specialist firms of accountants and tax advisors, practising for nearly 30 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation and submission of personal, partnership, and corporate Tax Returns to HMRC, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Work closely with the Tax Manager to help oversee the day-to-day operations of the Tax Department, including submissions, payments, workflow management, and tracking key metrics
  • Assist with the completion of P11D forms
  • Provide tax-related support and guidance to other departments as needed
  • Be available to offer help and insights to other client-facing team members
  • Handle routine correspondence with HMRC, including letters, emails, and phone calls
  • Apply for certificates of residence and supply tax documentation for mortgage applications or requests from overseas advisers
  • Maintain and organise departmental filing systems
  • Collaborate with the Head of Tax and Payroll Manager on various ad hoc projects
  • Prepare a variety of tax forms for review
  • Help with onboarding new clients, including registering for UTRs
  • Set up and manage Government Gateway accounts on behalf of clients

Requirements:

  • 2-4 year's experience within a similar practice role
  • Familiar with CCH or similar tax software
  • Particular interest in tax and the media industry
  • Looking to develop tax skills in a fast paced environment
  • Organised team placer with a willingness to learn
  • Initiative and the ability to multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong at time management and prioritising workload
