OUR IMPACT The mission of Global Tax is to ensure the firm’s compliance with the tax laws and associated reporting obligations of the countries and local jurisdictions in which the firm conducts business. The Tax Division analyzes and supports the activities, operations, reporting obligations, and transactions of the firm’s business lines to ensure that tax consequences and reputational risks are evaluated appropriately. The Business Analysis team provides subject matter expertise and functionally-aligned support during the design, testing and implementation of business and regulatory driven change. The team capitalizes on opportunities to optimize processes and build scalability through data analytics and efficient use of technology. We partner with stakeholders across multiple business lines and our work contributes directly to the firm’s success. The division is ideal for creative and collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail.

YOUR IMPACT We are looking for an Associate/VP to use their skills and experience to join our London Tax Business Analysis team. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across various business lines, to implement business and regulatory driven change in a highly visible global organization operating in a dynamic environment. Consequently, this role requires an energetic, enthusiastic, and driven professional.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL Being part of the Tax department, you will:

  1. Advise the firm's professionals on the operational tax implications of transactions and of new products in development for the firm and its clients.
  2. Drive strategic initiatives and issue resolution.
  3. Partner with senior stakeholders across Business Lines, Trading, Corporate Tax and Engineering.
  4. Perform impact assessments on tax processes for new markets, new products, business reorganizations, system changes and new/updated tax regulations.
  5. Industrialize and automate processes and ensure effective controls are implemented.
  6. Act as a risk manager through ongoing assessment and awareness of the tax regulatory landscape, and the firm’s operational tax obligations.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR - BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of projects, is organized, possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, able to understand complex flow, and able to deliver on deadlines.
  2. Ability to balance multiple, time-sensitive projects while maintaining a longer term, strategic focus.
  3. Excellent communication skills with an ability to influence senior business stakeholders and make decisions.
  4. Intermediate/advanced Excel skills essential.
  5. Thrives in a team environment.
  6. Flexible and ability to learn quickly.
  7. Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Exposure to tax regulations change management initiatives.
  2. Background of withholding / transactional taxes beneficial but not essential.
  3. Ability to leverage business intelligence and automation tools such as Alteryx, Signavio and Tableau.
