Job summary

An established accountancy firm in Brighton is seeking a Mixed Tax Manager to join their dynamic team. This role involves liaising with HMRC, preparing tax calculations, and advising clients on various tax issues. The successful candidate will be CTA qualified or possess equivalent qualifications with relevant experience. Qualifications

Job description

ProTalent are currently working with a Chartered Accountancy firm in Brighton looking to recruit a Mixed Tax Manager.

The firm:

  1. Well established accountancy firm with a great team working in Brighton and London.
  2. Impressive client bases from a wide range of industries
  3. Offer a full range of business advisory and accounting services.
  4. Clients include businesses, charities and individuals.

The role:

  1. Liaising and corresponding with HMRC in respect of clearance applications, enquiries etc.
  2. Drafting reports and letters of advice for several tax advisory issues.
  3. Preparing calculations to support advice.
  4. Liaising with clients and attending meetings with other team members.
  5. Training and reviewing work of more junior members of staff.
  6. Providing support to Directors and Partners in the Tax Advisory Group.
  7. Advice and implementation of corporate reconstructions, investor reliefs such as EIS/SEIS, staff incentive schemes.
  8. Advising owner managed businesses regarding remuneration planning, succession planning.
  9. Preparation of research & development claims, VAT returns, SDLT returns.
  10. Advising individuals regarding IHT planning and CGT mitigation.
  11. Reviewing corporate tax computations and returns.

The successful applicant:

  1. Would be CTA qualified, but would consider applicants who are ATT / ACCA / ACA qualified with Tax experience.
  2. Excellent organisational skills.
  3. Have the confidence to speak to clients either face to face or on the telephone.
