EY’s Financial Services (FS) Tax practice provides tax advisory, transactions, and compliance services to various clients in the Financial Services market, including multinational institutions, corporations, and funds.

The US tax compliance team, part of the EMEIA Wealth & Asset Management practice, is growing due to client demand from European asset managers with US investors and/or US activity.

The opportunity

Our London team of US-qualified tax professionals focuses on providing exceptional client service to the asset management industry, including hedge funds, debt funds, private equity funds, and real estate funds, and their management companies.

The team is dynamic and seeks motivated, energetic individuals to join as managers and senior managers, specifically with private equity fund experience.

Your key responsibilities

• Overseeing private equity fund US tax compliance engagements
• Researching US tax legislation and explaining impacts to clients
• Coaching junior staff members
• Coordinating engagement teams’ schedules and deadlines

• Proficiency in partnership allocations and private equity carry waterfalls
• Understanding of international tax concepts
• Experience advising on US tax impact of investment and fund structures
• Proficiency in managing priorities and stakeholders

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Current CPA, EA, or equivalent qualification
• Extensive experience in partnership tax returns and private equity fund taxation
• Knowledge of international tax returns and US tax laws
• In-depth knowledge of Go Systems tax preparation software

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience in managing large fund compliance projects
• Ability to explain US tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders
• Background in financial services with private equity funds
• Experience in delivering training to junior team members
