About Us

Seccl is the Octopus-owned embedded investment platform that’s on a mission to helping more people to invest – and invest well.

We’re B-Corp certified with an amazing product-market fit, impressive early traction and the potential to transform an outdated industry, for the better. We've been growing fast and will scale even faster over the next few years.

We’re also proud to be part of Octopus, the £multi billion group that's on a mission to breathe new life into broken industries, through companies like Octopus Energy, Octopus Investments and Octopus Money.

Check out the Seccl website for the latest on our products and our mission to shape the future of investments.

The role

We are excited to be hiring a talent partner to join our newly formed talent acquisition function, working closely with the wider people team and stakeholders from across the business (up to exec level).

Our business is accelerating at lightning speed and to support this we are building out the talent processes that will enable us to hire the right people, in the right place, at the right time. Now is a key moment to join our friendly bunch in helping to deliver our ambitious goals.

On a typical day you will be…

  • Collaborating with teams to align on hiring priorities, ensuring you’re supporting business goals through talent acquisition
  • Managing end-to-end hiring for a variety of roles, guiding teams through every step from role intake to offer, driving both candidate and hiring manager experience
  • Utilising diverse sourcing techniques to attract top talent, build and manage pipelines
  • Ensuring a great candidate experience by driving an inclusive, fair, and welcoming environment throughout the hiring process
  • Championing diversity, equity, and inclusion at every hiring stage, promoting these values both internally and externally
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of the hiring playbook by providing feedback, sharing insights, and suggesting new approaches
  • Supporting employer brand efforts by representing the company positively to candidates and strengthening Seccl's presence as an employer of choice
  • Collaborating with the wider People team including working on projects when time allows, contributing to the broader company roadmap beyond just recruitment

This role’s for you if...

  • You have experience in leading fair and consistent end-to-end hiring for multiple roles at a time within a fast-growing in-house (or RPO/onsite) environment
  • You have strong knowledge of sourcing techniques, candidate management, employer brand development, and talent mapping, with a creative approach to trying new things
  • You’re quality driven and can demonstrate how you have kept the bar high in using various candidate evaluation techniques to ensure the best fit for each role, acting as the gatekeeper to hiring individuals that will add and contribute positively to the culture
  • You’re well skilled in using talent acquisition tools and tech - LinkedIn Recruiter experience is essential, Ashby is desirable
  • You have a data-driven mindset, using hiring metrics and insights to optimise processes, find solutions and suggest improvements
  • You have exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships at all levels of the business, not being afraid to give and receive constructive feedback
  • You are comfortable with context-switching, and able to manage competing (and changing) priorities effectively

What’s in it for you...

  • A salary between £50,000 and £60,000 – dependant on experience + reviewed annually
  • 27 days holiday + bank holidays (some can be flexible) + day off on your birthday + three days (full time) per year for Dependant leave
  • Two volunteering days per year
  • Length of service award – one month paid sabbatical at eight years
  • 6% employer pension contribution, and life assurance
  • Private medical insurance with AXA Health
  • Enhanced Parental leave
  • MacBook and up to £500 home office set up budget
  • £700 per person learning budget
  • Option to work abroad for up to six weeks a year
  • Health and wellbeing initiatives including free therapy via Wellness Cloud, mental health support via Headspace
  • Strong financial wellbeing focus including access to Octopus Money, Octopus Share Incentive Plan, will writing offering via Octopus Legacy and Seccl invest (our own platform for you to manage your investments)
  • Perkbox – Flexi-points giving you a range of discounts and perks including free weekly coffee, gym and retail discounts.
  • Access to initiatives like Cycle to Work and Octopus Electric Vehicle Leasing

Our culture

We're proud to put people first, creating a culture where we truly listen to what matters most to them. Our transparent and inclusive environment encourages diversity of thought, challenge and experimentation.

Interview Process

Interviewing is a two-way thing, and we want you to have the time and opportunity to get to know us, as much as we are getting to know you. Our interviews are conversational, so come with questions and be curious. In general, you can expect the interview process to look a bit like this;

  • First stage – 30-45 mins competencies-based interview with the talent lead
  • Second stage – one-hour technical interview or assessment with the people operations lead and talent lead
  • Final stage – 30 mins bar-raiser culture-based interview with the CPO

We’ll only close this role once we have enough applications for the next stage. Please submit your application as soon as possible to make sure you don’t miss out and you should expect to hear back from us within one to two weeks of applying.

Our aim is to build a diverse and inclusive company of awesome people, with unique skills, passions and experiences. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to age, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or parental status, national origin, or veteran, neurodiversity or disability status.

If this sounds like your kind of thing, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick every box. We’d love to hear from you!
