Bristol
£63,386 - £69,444 plus generous Civil Service defined benefit pension
The opportunity
Bring your talent and resourcing skills and experience to shape and model the streams in our people strategy and help make a real difference to the lives of students.
As the independent regulator of higher education in England, we ensure the best experience and the best value – for students, for taxpayers, for the economy and for the public good. This is an opportunity to shape the talent and resourcing agenda in a diverse and rapidly evolving organisation.
The role
The ongoing development of our People Strategy has created a new role for a talent and resourcing professional to take up a senior post which will lead the resourcing function within the wider HR team. The role will have the opportunity to craft the recruitment and resourcing strands of the people strategy as well as the opportunity to develop and implement comprehensive talent initiatives that align to our organisational goals, ensuring we have the skills we need now and for the future. You will provide expert direction on attraction, recruitment, employer branding and talent acquisition to ensure that we can meet our organisational regulatory agenda and achieve our organisational strategy.
About you
This role would suit an experienced talent and/or resourcing professional, who can take a lead on strategic workforce planning, ensuring a centralised approach to talent management to maximise potential. Our talent practices should support the development of a high performing and engaged workforce. The successful candidate for this role will work in partnership with colleagues across HR and the wider organisation; experience of building productive relationships with key stakeholders and influencing at senior levels is therefore essential. We are looking for someone who will be enthusiastic about leading a team in an agile environment. A flexible, creative approach, and excellent communications skills will also be essential.
Working for us
The OfS regulates the higher education sector on behalf of all students. We value diversity and the wealth of perspectives, experience and ideas that it brings to our work and we strive to embed equality of opportunity in everything we do. We recruit based on fair and open competition and welcome applications from candidates regardless of age, disability, race and ethnicity, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation and socio-economic background.
At the OfS, we recognise that flexibility can enable people to work more effectively. A set of organisation-wide principles shape our approach to flexible and hybrid working, which our teams then use as guidance on how they deliver their business goals. This would usually mean working from the office for two days in a typical week.
To attract the widest possible field of qualified applicants, flexible working and part-time working apply to this role. In addition, our Total Reward Framework offers a range of benefits to suit your way of life. These include comprehensive learning and development, annual leave starting at 25 days per year (plus public holidays), access to the highly regarded Civil Service pension scheme and a variety of health benefits.
