As a Systems Safety Engineer, you will join a cutting-edge team in Gloucester, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and reliability of mission-critical systems across next-generation aerospace and defence projects. From advanced aircraft platforms to complex weapon systems, you’ll be working at the forefront of technology, influencing designs from concept to delivery and making a real-world impact on national security and innovation.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Perform Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), System Safety Analysis (SSA), Risk Assessment, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and reliability analysis to support aircraft system safety.
  • Assess the integration of aircraft systems and their interaction with the operational environment, ensuring safety deliverables align with design and compliance requirements.
  • Provide safety and reliability support by reviewing Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential hazards, assess failure modes, and mitigate risks in the design phase.

Who are we looking for?

  • Strong understanding of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and safety standards relevant to aerospace engineering.
  • Experience or knowledge in aerospace, electrical, or mechanical systems, with a focus on design, integration, and performance.
  • Awareness of the impact of system architecture decisions on safety, reliability, and environmental considerations within aerospace applications.
