Our client, established for nearly 20 years, is seeking a systems support technician with experience in IT support and troubleshooting. You will install, configure, and update IT systems, as well as provide user support and training. You should be self-motivated, a problem-solver, and a team player. Responsibilities
Overall Purpose of Job:
- Install, commission, validate, and provide upgrades of computer systems for new and existing customers.
- Provide technical IT support for current and potential computer system customers.
- Provide helpdesk support for bespoke software solutions.
- Contribute to the overall success of the business in line with agreed company targets and objectives.
Technical/Helpdesk Responsibilities
- Install, commission, validate, and provide upgrades of computer systems and hardware solutions for new customers.
- Configure hardware for new customer installs.
- Review, update, and resolve outstanding tickets logged directly with the helpdesk.
- Provide helpdesk support and assist with subsequent call management.
- Provide first and second line technical support.
- Liaise with 3rd party support organisations to resolve tickets if they cannot be resolved internally.
- Manage client communications through different support methods (telephone, email, Zendesk, and remote access tools).
- Conduct site surveys to establish the customer's system and IT infrastructure requirements.
System Maintenance Responsibilities
- Provide upgrades of existing customer computer systems and software.
Minimum Requirements
- Formal IT qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or IT qualification equivalent).
- Windows Server knowledge and experience.
- Windows Desktop operating systems knowledge and experience (XP, 7, and 10 Desktop).
- Knowledge of Symantec Backup Exec (or equivalent).
- Experience of Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Knowledge of MS Office Administration including SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Helpdesk experience (Zendesk preferred).
- Experience using Remote Support applications (Gotoassist, Teamviewer, Teams, or equivalent).
- Experience offering hardware/software support including mobile devices.
- Knowledge of Windows networking architecture and setup.
- Experience of Active Directory.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Must hold a current driving licence.
