Job Title: System Administrator - Azure & Infrastructure
Reports to: IT Director
Location: Southampton, with remote working
Job Type: Full-Time
Working hours: 37.5 hours Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm, with an hour for lunch. Requirement to work outside of these hours on occasion.

We seek an experienced System Administrator with a strong background in Azure administration, Active Directory, Hyper-V, secure certificate management, and Fortinet firewalls to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will ensure the stable operation of our in-house network services and server environments.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and support core Microsoft, Azure, and Hyper-V technologies.
- Manage and maintain on-premises Active Directory and Azure Active Directory (AzureAD) services, ensuring seamless integration and synchronisation.
- Implement, manage, and maintain Hyper-V virtualisation environments, including setup, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning.
- Oversee secure certificate management and renewal processes for internal and external websites, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Configure, manage and troubleshoot Fortinet firewall devices and security policies to protect network and data integrity.
- Monitor system performance, conduct regular security audits to detect any vulnerability, and execute preventive measures.
- Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement system structures, redundancy, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Provide technical support and guidance on infrastructure-related issues to IT staff and end-users.
- Keep up-to-date documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in system administration, including direct experience with Azure, Active Directory, and Hyper-V.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Proficiency in managing Fortinet firewall appliances and security services.
- Experience with secure certificate management, issuance, and renewal processes.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with an ability to provide technical support and training to non-technical users.
