Job description

Description

What if you could do the kind of work the world needs?

At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects and connect with the brightest minds in your field to do the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.

A little more about your role…

You will be joining Transformation Advisory, a growth capability with big ambitions.
A typical project could include building the implementation roadmap to bring a client’s sustainability strategy to life through the organisation, its people and its partners; implementing business changes to enable alignment to the Carbon Management in Infrastructure standard: PAS2080 or advising on innovative low carbon projects. No two projects are the same, but they all demand exceptional client experience and a focus on delivering sustainable results.
This specialist team is spread geographically; however, it is focused around three team hubs: London (Chancery Lane), Manchester, and Birmingham offices.
Uniquely, the role offers the opportunity to directly inform the growth strategy for Transformation at WSP. Your expertise and insights will contribute to building a leading sustainable change capability.

  • Delivering transformational work with purpose, supporting WSP’s ambition of acting as a bold change agent in society.
  • Playing a hands-on role in business development and team growth, owning priority accounts and managing key pursuits.
  • Actively building relationships with key clients and developing wider networks within and external to WSP.
  • Guiding organisations through the business changes needed for a shift towards sustainability and decarbonisation practices, supporting from strategy development through to practical implementation.
  • Providing advice on current Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) and Net Zero carbon policies relevant to our clients’ sector and how this should be applied in practice, using a data evidenced based approach.
  • Managing a portfolio of sustainable change projects comprising multidisciplinary teams focusing on delivering high quality outputs and a positive client experience.
  • Looking for people who are interested in playing a key role in leading, coaching, and supporting team members and maturing our sustainable change practice.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…

  • Experience of developing ambitious yet achievable sustainability, net zero carbon and/or ESG strategies.
  • Experience of work winning practices, building client relationships, developing and contributing to bids.
  • Experience of advising public and private sector clients, as a consultant, across a range of sectors in sustainable practices.
  • A consultancy and advisory background, working with clients within Infrastructure, utilities, energy, defence, or transport sectors.
  • APM Qualified with project management experience and base understanding of contracts.
  • Relevant degree and/or masters – e.g. in sustainability, environment, geography, business, etc.
  • Excellent research, analytical, writing, and presentational skills.
  • Ability to foster strong working relationships and influence with clients, team members, WSP, and across the industry.

Don’t quite meet all the criteria? Apply, and we can see how your experience aligns to this role and other opportunities within the team.
