This is a full-time role based in Luton, and will be 40 hours per week, with some occasional travel required.
We are looking for a Sustainability Manager to join the Sustainability Team whose primary responsibility is to manage environmental sustainability at easyJet. As well as leading action to address the climate impact of flying, the team also established an IATA certified environmental management system to ensure sustainability is considered in everything we do whilst driving improvements.
What you need to do the role
The Sustainability Manager at easyJet plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Sustainability to incorporate sustainability across the company and drive the next phase of its progression. This role involves overseeing the comprehensive sustainability spectrum, engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, and driving internal engagement strategies.
A typical day might see you acting as a 'Chief of Staff' to the Director of Sustainability, managing environmental sustainability reporting, and developing into a business partner for specific business areas. The ideal candidate will also manage internal engagement strategies, build awareness of industry trends and policies, develop subject matter expertise in areas like Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) and hydrogen, and support sustainability governance activities.
Key Skills Required:
The ideal candidate for the Sustainability Manager role at easyJet should be a highly motivated individual with a passion for sustainability, capable of taking ownership and working both independently and as part of a team. The role requires demonstration of the ability to deliver results, understand and address issues, and continuously look for opportunities to improve quality and efficiency.
Building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is crucial, requiring the ability to establish rapport quickly and build trust. Analytical capability is essential, as the role involves significant data cross-examination and attention to detail to identify discrepancies and opportunities for improvement. Effective time management is also critical in the fast-paced environment of easyJet.
Key skills required include strong verbal and written communication, experience with Microsoft Excel, business expertise (with aviation experience being beneficial but not essential), knowledge of corporate sustainability and reporting, and project management experience.
