About the Opportunity: Intellect is delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Analyst / Lead with a leading chemical distributor. This company, one of Europe's top five in its sector, operates in 25 countries with 55 locations and a turnover of € billion. We are looking for a person with a passion for sustainability to join the team and help with the company's sustainability and decarbonization initiatives. The position is based in North London, with a hybrid working model and occasional travel to Germany.
Key Responsibilities:
Carbon Footprint Reduction: Developing and executing strategies to reduce the company’s carbon footprint across all operational areas, ensuring adherence to global standards and regulations.
Sustainability Initiatives: Leading initiatives in sustainable chemical sourcing, waste reduction, and energy efficiency improvements.
Decarbonization Strategy: Crafting and managing a comprehensive decarbonization plan, setting ambitious targets to move towards a net-zero carbon footprint.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging with internal teams and external partners, including suppliers and regulatory bodies, to drive sustainability initiatives forward.
CSRD Reporting and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations, preparing detailed sustainability reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Innovation and Education: Identifying and implementing new technologies and best practices to enhance sustainability, while educating the workforce on sustainable practices.
Project Management: Overseeing projects focused on the management and support of dashboards and metrics, crucial for tracking progress and decision-making.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a sustainability role, preferably within the chemical distribution or a similar industry.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications are advantageous.
Skills: Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations, carbon accounting, sustainable supply chain management, and project management. Strong communication skills.
