Toni at Amber Mace is currently working with a fantastic care provider who has Residential, Nursing, and Supported Living services throughout the UK. They are looking to recruit an experienced Registered Manager for their Supported Living/Extra Care services in Poole and Bournemouth. The service is made up of 4 schemes covering Poole and Bournemouth, and you will be responsible for 2 of the 4 schemes, working alongside another Registered Manager to support those within the services to live as independently as possible.
The clients within the services have additional needs ranging from Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, ABI, Substance Misuse, and other complex care needs. They also support elderly and dementia clients.
As the Service Manager you will:
- Utilise your authentic leadership, role modelling, and inspirational skills to motivate the team to deliver excellent quality of care.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Service with 24-hour responsibility for the care of the Service Users.
- Manage the effective use of resources, including the financial performance of the Service, and maintain high levels of occupancy.
- Provide improvement, independence, and choice for Service Users.
- Comply with all regulatory and legislative requirements at all times, particularly the CQC.
Essential Skills & Duties of a Service Manager:
- Develop and implement evidence-based individualised care packages, therapeutic interventions, and individualised activity programmes.
- Lead and supervise the support team to deliver the highest standards of person-centred care using clinical governance and personal development.
- Be familiar with areas concerning sickness management, staff training and development, coaching, and mentoring.
- Communicate and engage effectively with service users, their families, and colleagues; good interpersonal skills are essential.
- Have a good understanding of the disabilities, health, and social care needs of service users and assist those with mobility or continence needs using appropriate aids and equipment.
- Provide appropriate levels of care and support to ensure that personal hygiene needs are met (washing, dressing, bathing, using the toilet).
The Ideal Candidate:
- Strong experience as an Extra Care/Supported Living Manager.
- NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care or working towards this.
- Ideally have experience as a Registered Manager.
- Good CQC knowledge and experience.
- Experience with LD/Autism/Mental Health or other Complex Care needs.
- A strong knowledge of person-centred care.
- Experience of working closely with service users, assessing their needs and delivering care that helps each person to live a fuller life.
