About the Role

In this rewarding role, you will support children and young people aged 9-19 in our Children’s Homes to achieve their goals and live as independently as possible. You may already have experience or a personal connection to people with autism or learning disabilities, and we are looking for people who have a deep understanding of and compassion for their needs. You’ll be helping them thrive in a way that truly matters not just through great service, but by empowering them to reach their potential.

We are currently looking for Full time support workers. No prior experience in social care? We provide full training; all you need is a friendly personality, strong communication skills, and the desire to make a positive impact.

A Day in the Life of a Support Worker

As a Support Worker, you’ll offer care, guidance, and engage in activities at home and in the community. Building strong relationships with the children, their families, and your colleagues is key to helping them achieve their dreams. Every day will be different, but the reward of seeing the people you support reach their goals will make it all worth it.

Shifts:

  • Early shifts: 07:00am - 15:00pm
  • Late shifts: 14:00pm - 22:00pm

About you

You don't need experience to become a Children's Support Worker at MacIntyre. We’re looking for passionate individuals who have the right attitude, excellent customer service skills, and share our values. If you’re someone who celebrates differences, values inclusion, and is eager to learn, you’ll be a great fit for our team.

We believe in supporting our staff every step of the way, which is why we’ll help you earn your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare as you develop in your role.

We are located in a rural village with no nearby public transport. However, if you have other reliable means of getting to work, then we encourage you to apply. Please note that you must live within 20 miles of Wingrave.

Training and Development

At Macintyre, we fully support your training and development to become the best Support Worker you can be. We know it can be daunting to start a new job, and not everyone learns the same way, so throughout your probation we will provide you with a mixture of eLearning, face-to-face training, and mentoring support whilst on the job.

These teams, along with your Manager, will provide you with opportunities to learn and develop professionally as well as enabling and supporting you to achieve professional qualifications and career progression opportunities - all free of charge.
