Frontline Recruitment Weymouth is seeking a Support Site Engineer to join our client's team in Portland.


About the Role:

As a Support Site Engineer, you will assist the Mechanical & Electrical Engineer in ensuring all site machinery operates efficiently for the smooth handling, storage, and export of grain and other commodities.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the M&E Engineer in maintaining and servicing all site machinery.
  2. Conduct preventative maintenance, diagnose minor faults, and carry out repairs.
  3. Ensure compliance with health & safety and site maintenance procedures.
  4. Operate and manage the automated gantry system during discharges.
  5. Maintain plant inspection schedules and support documentation/reporting.
  6. Keep the site and stores clean and organized.

Requirements:

  1. Relevant qualification (BTech/C&G/NVQ) or equivalent mechanical/electrical experience.
  2. 2-3 years in a similar industry (production, warehouse, ports, shipping preferred).
  3. Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and make quick decisions.
  4. A team player with strong communication skills and a hands-on attitude.
  5. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends & nights during vessel discharges.
  6. Full UK driving license & machinery operation experience.
