Frontline Recruitment Weymouth is seeking a Support Site Engineer to join our client's team in Portland.
About the Role:
As a Support Site Engineer, you will assist the Mechanical & Electrical Engineer in ensuring all site machinery operates efficiently for the smooth handling, storage, and export of grain and other commodities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the M&E Engineer in maintaining and servicing all site machinery.
- Conduct preventative maintenance, diagnose minor faults, and carry out repairs.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and site maintenance procedures.
- Operate and manage the automated gantry system during discharges.
- Maintain plant inspection schedules and support documentation/reporting.
- Keep the site and stores clean and organized.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification (BTech/C&G/NVQ) or equivalent mechanical/electrical experience.
- 2-3 years in a similar industry (production, warehouse, ports, shipping preferred).
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and make quick decisions.
- A team player with strong communication skills and a hands-on attitude.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends & nights during vessel discharges.
- Full UK driving license & machinery operation experience.
