Job description

Aramark Canada is looking for a Support Services Manager with experience in the areas of Food Services, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance Services for an opportunity to service a Healthcare Facility in the Victoria area.

Reporting to the District Manager, the Support Services Manager is responsible for the food and facilities contract at the site including its financial accountability, and compliance with the standards established by Aramark, regulatory agencies, and clients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified food service experience for residents, visitors, and employees.
  2. Ensures compliance with food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
  3. Interacts with Client Management and maintains effective client and customer relations at all levels of the client organization, including conducting rounding. Identifies Aramark service expansion opportunities.
  4. Provides overall direction and manages performance for all Supervisors and front-line employees, ensuring employee development, engagement, and compliance with human resource-related policies and standards.
  5. Directs, staffs, and trains food service department regarding food presentation, quality, cost control, and cash handling.
  6. Develops operational component forecasts and can explain variances. Responsible for component's accounting functions.
  7. Responsible for ordering, Inventory, Menu Development, and Production Planning.
  8. Maintains and verifies employee work schedules through web-based payroll tracking systems.
  9. Assists Food Service Supervisor in ordering, Inventory, Menu Development, and Production Planning.
  10. Monitors and verifies accounting documentation through web-based systems.
  11. Follows Union CBA terms e.g., seniority/scheduling standards and policies.
  12. Prepares annual budget with ongoing review, monitoring, and approval of all revenues and expenses.
  13. Follows financial projections.
  14. Develops and maintains a strong leadership team.
  15. Ensures compliance with Aramark audits and Business Conduct Policy.
  16. Responsible for all aspects of menu and nourishment cycle development and evaluation in conjunction and collaboration with site Dietitian and Aramark Corporate Menu Development team.
  17. Investigates resident, family, and employee concerns and complaints with focus on follow-up and appropriate resolution.
  18. Performs all other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in relevant field.
  2. Membership to CSNM is required.
  3. Basic Housekeeping Experience or full EVS experience as an asset.
  4. Menu management, balancing a budget and working within assigned operational costs/budget.
  5. Requires a minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience managing operations with financial and operational responsibility for the sites/departments.
  6. Computer savvy with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  7. Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively with clients, customers of the client, and support staff.
  8. P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience is desirable.
  9. Requires management and leadership skills and the ability to work with confidential employee, client, and Aramark information.
  10. Mandatory background check process is a requirement for all qualified candidates.

Compensation Information:

Salary Range: $58,710-$74,160 CAD/year.
