The Role

You'll become part of a close-knit, dedicated team who supports a young gentleman with complex care needs, in his own home 24 hours per day. He lives an active life and regularly participates in various activities within the community such as swimming where he goes several times a week. As well as enjoying music in both the home setting and in the community, he has a specially adapted bike that he can enjoy trips out and about with the support of staff. There's never a dull moment; every day is different! Being a confident swimmer is essential for this role as the person we support goes swimming multiple times a week.

About You

For this opportunity, we're ideally looking for someone who has experience in a caring or supportive role with the ability to lone work and the confidence to manage behaviours that can challenge. However, the successful candidates will undergo training on a detailed and specific support plan devised by a multidisciplinary team.

What we'll need from you:

  • Good communication skills
  • A caring attitude and approach
  • A positive approach to learning
  • An understanding of the importance of following routines and guidelines
  • The ability to cook
  • Confidence in the use of computers
  • A valid driver's license isn't essential for this role but would be beneficial

Shift Patterns

Typical shift patterns will be two 24-hour shifts a week, which include a 9-hour sleepover. These will be from 9:15 am to 9:15 am the following day. Regular weekend work on a rotational basis is also required.
