Job description

Looking for a new part-time job with satisfaction that you'd struggle to find anywhere else? We've got just the opportunity for you!

Our amazing #TeamPackman in Buckie are now on the lookout for a new colleague to join them on a part-time basis (20 hours per week). So, if you're caring and patient with a positive attitude and a good sense of humour, you could be just who we're looking for!

The Role

The great thing about this job is no two days are ever the same. Your main aim will be to provide support to a fun-loving lady in her own home in Buckie. You'll assist with all aspects of her daily life including finances, medication, cooking, and housework. We'll also need you to be enthusiastic about supporting her with hobbies and interests too; these include swimming, bingo, going to the cinema, pamper days, and a variety of in-house & outdoor activities.

About You

Don't have experience? Don't worry! Here at Cornerstone, we recruit on values and transferable skills. It's not about what experience and qualifications you have; we're interested in what you as an individual will bring to our team. We have our own Training Academy that will support you by giving you all the practical skills you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too.

However, as the lady we support has her own mobility car, we are looking for someone with a full driving licence for this particular vacancy.

All we need you to bring is:

  • A caring and compassionate attitude and approach
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • An understanding of the importance of routines and guidelines
  • Confidence to go in the water, as swimming is a regular activity
  • Confidence in the use of computers

Shift Patterns

As we are dedicated to providing around-the-clock support that is tailored to the needs of each individual, shifts currently fall into patterns of early mornings, days, and evenings. Weekends and sleepovers will also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.

Our sleepover shifts do not form part of your contracted hours. You will receive an additional payment of £96 for every sleepover shift that you work! Waking nights are paid at your normal hourly rate plus £20 per waking night shift worked.

Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today; we can't wait to hear from you!

Have any questions? If you'd like to find out more, please contact Morna Hay on 07770950523.

We are looking to fill this vacancy as soon as possible, so reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we find suitable candidates before the closing date. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

Please note: If you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.

If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
