Job description

On the look out for a job with satisfaction you'd struggle to find anywhere else? We've got the perfect job for you!

Our amazing teams Stonehaven are on the lookout for reliable, patient and caring colleagues to join them as Support Practitioners on a part-time, full-time and relief basis.

The Role

You'll become part of one of our warm, friendly, supportive teams supporting individuals with various support needs within their own shared homes. As a Support Practitioner, you'll be supporting the individuals with their day to day lives, including housework, personal care, making meals, finances and attending appointments.

There’s never a dull moment in this role, the individuals all enjoy an active and social life, including discos, music and karaoke. Some other favourite activities are arts & crafts, going for lunch, day trips; as well as local walks and trips into Aberdeen city.

About You

At Cornerstone we don’t recruit on experience and qualifications; we’re more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team! We’ll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you’ll need. We’ll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!

All we'll need you to bring is:

  • Good listening and communication skills
  • A caring attitude and approach
  • A positive approach to learning
  • An understanding of the importance of routines and guidelines
  • The ability to cook (baking would be a bonus too)

It would be great if you also had a full manual driving license, but this isn't a deal breaker for the right candidates.

Shift Patterns

As we're dedicated to providing the best support, tailored to the needs of each individual the shifts are varied and do include early mornings, days, evenings. Weekends and sleepovers will also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.

Our sleepovers don't form part of your contracted hours; you'll receive an additional payment of £96 for every sleepover shift you work!

Due to the location of our service, if you are not a driver with access to your own vehicle, we will need you to be mindful of the location and be confident that you can travel for your shifts as our service has limited public transport links that fit with the shift patterns for this role.

Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today, we can't wait to hear from you!

We are looking to fill these vacancies as soon as possible and reserve the right to close our advert early if we find suitable candidates before the closing date. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
