Salary: £40,000 - £60,000

Location: Cheltenham (Hybrid & Flexible Working Options Available)

Clearance – Active eDV security clearance required

As a Support Engineer, you’ll be a key player in maintaining and enhancing the critical infrastructure that powers our most important services. You’ll tackle complex challenges, work on high-impact projects, and play a vital role in supporting cutting-edge technology in the Defence and Security sector.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Hands-on maintenance to ensure system stability and uptime
• Monitoring systems to maximize performance and availability
• Troubleshooting and resolving critical issues alongside the development team
• Identifying technical risks and implementing proactive solutions
• Maintaining accurate documentation of issues, faults, and fixes
• Applying DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices

What You Bring:

• Strong experience in supporting and debugging complex live operational systems
• Expertise in log monitoring tools like Splunk or ELK stack
• Proactive mindset with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively
• Linux server administration experience
• Hands-on experience with technologies like Apache NiFi, MinIO/AWS S3
• Experience managing and patching Java and Python applications
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift)
