Job description

Academics are currently looking to recruit enthusiastic and experienced secondary Science Teachers (Key Stage 3 - Key Stage 5) who are looking to gain day-to-day, short, and long term assignments within our partnership secondary schools and academies in the Cheshire East & West this summer term (or from September 2025).

Whether this is a new long term contract or temporary supply, at Academics we focus the job search around you and look to provide you with the type of work you are looking for. Our opportunities are great as they allow our teachers to be flexible with the days that they wish to work and can be ideal for Science Early Career Teachers (ECTs), as these roles historically have led to more long-term and permanent roles in some of our client schools.

Roles Requirements
  1. Have UK Qualified Teaching Status (QTS or QTLS).
  2. Be familiar with the UK National Curriculum and the Science programmes of study.
  3. Have strong classroom management with excellent subject knowledge (with a Biology, Chemistry, or Physics specialism) and to have the ability to teach and inspire positive learning attitudes.
  4. Be able to adapt quickly within a new school environment and to be a good team player.
  5. Hold a current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service or to be prepared to apply for a new Enhanced DBS with ourselves (cost applied).

Please be aware that your daily rate will be dependent upon experience, prior qualifications, the supply requirement (short or long term) and the client rate that is currently available.

If you are a secondary Science Teacher who holds the relevant experience and you wish to be considered for our supply opportunities this forthcoming summer term or from September, please click ‘APPLY NOW’ below to submit your most up to date CV for immediate review.

We are dedicated to safer recruitment, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We do expect every candidate to share this commitment. Work assignments are subject to safeguarding and child protection screening in line with DfE policies, including right to work, recent employment references and enhanced DBS checks.
