Supply Chain Planner - Luton
We are looking for a skilled and analytical professional to join our client's Shipping team in Luton, UK. Experience in the wine industry, along with a solid understanding of replenishment and forecast planning processes, is essential. This role requires a highly numeric and detail-oriented individual who will be responsible for stock availability and service levels while minimizing shortages and costs.

Hours: Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours (Hybrid working available after 3 month probation)

Key Responsibilities
Stock & Replenishment Management
- Monitor a portfolio of wines using system tools to ensure replenishment commitments align with short- and medium-term demand.
- Consider factors such as stock levels, expected arrivals, forecasts, target service levels, lead times, supplier reserves, and seasonal policies.
- Continuously review and adjust forecasts based on short-term trends, collaborating with the Demand Planner to communicate deviations.
- Maintain inventory levels in line with stockholding objectives and Supply Chain KPIs.
- Ensure product availability meets agreed targets while optimizing shipping costs and overall stock cover.
Order & Supplier Coordination
- Manage order review cycles, consolidations, and purchase quantities (EOQ/MOQ).
- Review system-generated and manual purchase orders, approving and releasing as needed.
- Establish strong relationships with suppliers, managing allocations, demand changes, vintages, and production plans.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with Sales Teams and the Demand Planner to support new business opportunities and customer-specific requirements.
- Assist with tender response activities and provide guidance on proposed wines.
- Coordinate with the Supply Chain Manager to allocate supply for priority customers during shortages.
- Prepare and execute seasonal stock build plans to accommodate peak trading periods and producer closures.
- Communicate supply constraints or potential shortages to the business and customers proactively.
Continuous Improvement & Sustainability
- Challenge current processes to identify environmentally friendly alternatives.
- Maintain knowledge of bulk bottling and own-label replenishment processes.
Requirements
- Industry Experience: Strong understanding of replenishment and forecast planning within the food/drinks sector.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with ERP systems and replenishment software (ideally Netstock & Navision).
- Analytical & Forecasting Abilities: Experience managing volume forecasting across multiple product lines.
- Problem-Solving & Attention to Detail: Ability to identify trends, manage allocations, and ensure numerical accuracy.
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers and internal teams.
- Self-Starter & Time Management: Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Excel Proficiency: Intermediate-level Excel skills required.
- Experience: 1-2 years in a demand and supply planning role.
