Job Description:

The opportunity:

Leonardo is a global leader in defence electronics and delivers mission critical systems for situational awareness, electronic warfare and surveillance across land, sea and air. The Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business, based in Edinburgh, is uniquely positioned as one of the world's top manufacturers of radars, lasers and infra-red countermeasure systems.

Leonardo’s UK Supply Chain function have a requirement for a Material lead. You will be providing a level of Supply Chain management capability into the function and other functional stakeholders. This is an exciting role that covers all aspects of supply chain reporting on risk and opportunity including that will underpin the smooth running of the function.

We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in providing a supply chain position on a range of Production Build plans within an organization. You will be able to use your analytical skills to conduct analysis and provide a risk assessment showing mitigation where possible. You will have the ability to navigate through the SAP, BobJ and Power BI platforms to pull the supply & build plans.

What you’ll do as a Material Lead:

You will be the conduit of supply information from the UK Supply Chain function into the Integrated Program team. Keeping the team fully aware of supply constraints both internal and external impacting the build plan for your area. You will own the management of joint action plans for any production material supply. You will ensure the actions are driven to closure so not to impact the supply of material to its requirement date. You will present production supply status at various weekly meetings ensuring all risk is appropriately escalated. You will provide headline information covering supplier risk and subsequent RCCA plans.

What we need from you:

  1. The ability to grasp requirements and set your own priority according to the demands placed upon the role.
  2. Thinking out the box to provide a solution.
  3. Understand MRP demand and supply and be able to use system information to assess and mitigate risk.
  4. Be a great communicator.
  5. Be a team player.

You really must have:

  1. Experience in understanding Demand and Supply profiles within an MRP system.
  2. Experience in using Microsoft packages such as Excel, Power-point, Word, etc.
  3. The ability to communicate well into the team and other parts of the organisation.
  4. The experience in Supply Chain management to be able to present risk mitigation solutions where supply plans show potential risk.
  5. Experience in manufacturing and a production environment.
