A market leader in their sector, our Client is an established and highly successful Fresh Produce supplier marketing their fruit who supply product to the UK Retail arena. We currently offer an opportunity as Supply Chain Manager.

With a passion for success and productivity, to accompany a positive leadership approach, the successful Supply Chain Manager individual will be an imperative part of the companies production leadership team. The candidate will join the packhouse management team and this role involves coordinating and managing orders, requisites, and logistics to ensure the smooth and cost-effective flow of goods from suppliers to customers. Suitable candidates must be willing to work as part of a team and will ultimately report to the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities

1. Order Management: Oversee the entire order process, from order placement to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate fulfilment. Lead the operational teams on-site.
2. Requisition Management: Manage requisition processes, including the identification of needs, sourcing, and procurement of materials and services, with packaging being the main focus.
3. Labour Management: Work with the production and quality team plans to manage work schedules. Liaise with the Labour Manager for labour requirements and ensure that all team members are capable and have received the required training. Team includes 60 packers, quality control leaders, dispatch team, and line leaders. Health, Safety and Wellbeing Champion.
4. Logistics Coordination: Ensure that all logistics involved with delivering fruit to our customers are carried out. This includes booking daily haulage movements with several hauliers and reporting pallet movements to our marketing cooperative. Report any problems to the Managing Director immediately.

Requirements

1. A strong awareness of fresh produce in either a supply chain, procurement, or logistics focus.
2. A practical and decisive individual who understands how an effective and efficiently run fresh produce packhouse can contribute to stronger overall business profitability.
3. Commercially aware with the ability to positively communicate across all levels.
4. A strong communicator both within and outside the packhouse team.
5. Able to develop productive working relationships with colleagues in other parts of the business.
