Proactive Global currently is looking for a Supply Chain Manager for one of our customers based in Edgware area.

Salary: 55k + 10% bonus

Position within the organisation:

The Supply Chain Manager reports to the UK Head Of Operations and oversees all supply chain activities including procurement and service team functions; goods inwards, stores and dispatch.

Key purpose:

The role is to lead and manage end-to-end supply chain activities. To oversee the entire supply chain functions for the business, encompassing procurement, forecasting, inventory flow, and logistics to ensure seamless and timely distribution of products to the end customer.

The manager will be responsible for ensuring optimal supply chain performance to support and maximise the growth of the business while fostering a culture of working safely.

Key priorities:

  1. Managing costs across the supply chain, including procurement, inventory, and transportation.
  2. Driving rigorous data and BI analysis across supply chain to drive cost savings, inventory optimisation, efficiency, and speed on dispatch process.
  3. Optimising supply chain activities, making sure production and supply chain work hand in hand.
  4. Identifying and addressing supply chain risks across materials, machines, and other key line spend.
  5. Building strong relationships with suppliers and negotiating favourable terms.
  6. Ensuring inventory is optimised to meet production requirements and financial prudence.
  7. Challenging and improving efficiency in shipping goods to the customer.
  8. Responsible for smooth transition of goods at the goods inwards stage and transition through the company.
  9. Driving and ensuring statutory and best practice adherence to the highest health and safety standards within the supply chain team.
  10. Managing and building relationships with logistic suppliers to maximise efficiency on delivery to our customers.
  11. Working collaboratively and liaising with other departmental managers to ensure that internal customer requirements are met.
  12. Coaching, mentoring, and developing the team.
  13. Continuously reviewing and implementing training requirements for the team.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Building and maintaining robust relationships with suppliers, optimising the supplier base to ensure reliability and efficiency and ensure all critical dates are consistently met.
  2. Leading sourcing activities through the procurement team.
  3. Excellent communication and negotiation skills with suppliers.
  4. Identifying bottlenecks and solutions within the supply chain.
  5. Ensuring tools and processes are developed and maintained to support forecasting and effective stock control management.
  6. Data and BI analysis on key supply chain activities.
  7. Forecasting of assembled products from other Sentric factories both in Tunisia and China.
  8. Responsibility and leading bi-yearly stock taking process.
  9. Ensuring that material/parts are provided to line side manufacturing cells efficiently and optimising kanban systems.
  10. Daily communication and taking the lead for supply chain in the SQDIP meetings.
  11. Making sure logistic and transport operations are optimised for maximum efficiency.
  12. Setting team objectives and KPIs for the Supply Chain team.
  13. Liaising and communicating with other departments, customers, and other service providers.
  14. Staying current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advising others of any impact.
  15. Maintaining a curious and growth mindset, continuously reviewing and analysing processes with a focus on improving efficiencies and performance. Staying updated on the latest innovations and advancements in the supply chain function.

Supervisory responsibility:

Supply chain which involves procurement and service team.

Qualification requirements:

  1. Graduate level of education in a Business, Engineering, or Production related subject or equivalent experience, or MCIPS membership.
  2. ERP expertise, preferably with 365 Business Dynamics knowledge.
  3. Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  4. Strong IT literacy and data analysis skills.
  5. Experience with people management and developing a team.
  6. Proven experience working under pressure to balance job priorities and targets.
  7. Awareness of shipping requirements and Incoterms.
  8. Experience of working in an international, multi-site environment.
