Job description

We are currently seeking a Supplier Relationship Manager based in the UK. This is a remote working role. Our EMEA offices are based in Amsterdam and some travel could be required to here and also within the EMEA region.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Organizes and partakes in meetings with suppliers, discussing, analyzing, and evaluating parts supplies, production, quality, improvements, etc., in order to ensure supply of parts in compliance with orders placed.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as an on-site liaison between Embraer and suppliers, conducting audits, verifications, and gathering status updates on critical parts/components.
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement activities, incorporating Lean and P3E processes.
  • Maintain financial acumen by developing and achieving budget targets in cooperation with EMBRAER procurement department. Audit methods/efficiency of suppliers' management of their sub-suppliers' abilities to guarantee production flow and deliveries.
  • Visit sub-tiers to help address their issues when deemed necessary.
  • Propose alternatives, improvements, and resolutions for spare parts issues that may be affecting Embraer's profitability and/or capacity to comply with commitments.
  • Interact with Suppliers and Embraer's teams to coordinate and follow up on the investigation of technical issues, identification of appropriate solutions, and ensuring quality in the delivery process to Embraer and its customers.
  • Promote integration, enhance communication, and mediate conflicts between suppliers' and Embraer's teams.
  • Provide weekly written and daily verbal reports on findings and action plans.
  • Support the analysis of supplier key performance indicators.
  • Follow up on raw materials, components, and spare parts production process and delivery, based on schedules provided by suppliers, verifying and evaluating services regarding vendor's ability to deliver ordered quantities on schedule time and agreed quality level.
  • Oversee material movements throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences.
  • Maintain internal/external contacts, providing and/or obtaining information.
  • Analyze several operational, technical, and administrative matters related to parts supplies.
  • Verify items ordered, comparing with Brazil's forecast/schedule/orders.
  • Audit materials and analyze/evaluate quality of area services, as well as contract clauses and late deliveries.
  • Discuss and negotiate corrective plans and procedures with suppliers, implementing alternative problem solutions.
  • Follow up on performance and apply corrective measures to detected problems.
  • Provide regular written and verbal reports on observations, findings, and action plans agreed with vendors as well as on plans implementation.
  • Interact with Supplier and Embraer teams to coordinate the investigation and solution of technical issues reported by field operations, Embraer, or by suppliers.

PROFILE OF THE SUITABLE CANDIDATE:

  • BA in Engineering or equivalent degree and experience, Project Management or Business Administration.
  • Generally 5-7 years of experience in a specialized functional discipline.
  • Three or more years of engineering experience in new product development, machine/aircraft maintenance, or in providing engineering technical support acquired in the aviation/aeronautical industry.
  • Three or more years' experience in production process, purchasing or production planning, following up parts delivery, system/process/material audits, and in quality control.
  • Comprehension, understanding, and execution of broad practices associated within the field assigned and related fields.
  • Apply these understandings in the completion of complex work assignments.
  • Fluency in English, Portuguese desirable.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in utilization of MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Strong knowledge of Aircraft systems/structures (electric, electronic, mechanic, hydraulic, pneumatic, communication, etc.).
  • Demonstrate client support and service quality techniques.
  • Interpret and comprehend drawings, writing/communication/organization/negotiation skills, technical publications, reliability analysis.
  • Ability to identify and recommend corrections in order to ensure receiving of parts within schedules, according to quality and technique standards previously established in contracts.
  • Ability to provide inputs to teams on process issues that may be affecting the overall performance of the work to be done.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
