Supervising Social Worker - Fostering Team

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Supervising Social Worker within the Fostering Team to work full time based for an Independent Fostering Agency based in Bexleyheath.

The salary for this permanent Supervising Social Worker job is up to £42,000 per annum.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a caseload within the framework of supervision to effectively meet the needs of children and foster carers in line with national minimum standards.
  2. Ensure that information systems and records are effectively maintained to provide up-to-date and accurate information for decision-making.
  3. Maintain a personal awareness of legislation, agency policies, and procedures, acting in line with these to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  4. Attend regular training and compile a portfolio to evidence CPD in line with the professional capabilities framework.
  5. Provide the agency with high-quality assessments of back-up carers, long-term matching, and other appropriate assessments within the role.
  6. Visit foster carers every two to four weeks, providing appropriate support to 12/13 families, and complete timely monthly reports to upload to the database.
  7. Undertake annual review meetings and complete a report for the annual review of foster carers to present to the fostering panel.
  8. Attend and participate in case conferences, reviews, planning meetings, and any other required meetings, representing the independent fostering agency.
  9. Liaise and consult with others involved in the care of the child.
  10. Prepare for and undertake monthly visits to foster carers, completing monthly reports and risk assessments as required by the agency, Local Authorities, and the courts.
  11. Advise children and young people of their rights and assist them in implementing the complaints procedure as necessary.
  12. Work flexibly to accommodate the needs of the panel, support groups, and out-of-hours work as required.
  13. Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post holder's expertise, knowledge, experience, and skills, in keeping with the level of responsibility afforded.

Requirements of this role:

  1. A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  2. Understanding of relevant legislation.
  3. Registered or eligible for registration.
  4. Understanding, knowledge, and ability to follow guidelines to ensure compliance with Health & Safety at Work, Data Protection, and other statutory requirements.
  5. This post requires registration with the relevant health professional council/governing body (Social Care England).
