Job description

We currently have openings for Summer Special Education Teacher positions for our 2025 Summer program.

Special Education > Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8, 5-12)
Qualifications:
  1. At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
  2. Experience with IEP’s
  3. Knowledge of subject area, content and teaching methodology
  4. Experience teaching in special education setting
  5. Strengths in classroom management, collaboration, and a love of teaching
  6. Understanding of therapeutic milieu
  7. Strong communication, organization and writing skills…and the ability to have fun!
Schedule:

June 27, 2025 thru July 29, 2025
7:30am-3:30pm; Monday – Friday

Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and deliver effective lessons and activities aligned with MA Curriculum Frameworks in order to help students avoid academic and social regression
  2. Participate in program staff meetings; work with colleagues to develop activities and address specific students’ needs
  3. Supervise and engage with students at less structured times, such as earned free time, lunch, and field trips
  4. Complete program progress reports on schedule
  5. Work collaboratively with other staff to manage milieu and support the team concept
  6. Lead group activities with students, based on collaboration, teamwork, problem-solving and fun
  7. Demonstrate respect for diversity among our staff and student body and promote an atmosphere which values this diversity
