Summer Holiday Play Worker

Employer: Kids

Contract: Sessional

Location: Hull (various locations)

Salary: £11.44 - £12.82 per hour (including holiday pay)

As a Play Worker, you'll play a key role in creating joyful and meaningful experiences for children and young people with disabilities. Working closely with families and a dedicated team, you'll provide personalised support that empowers every child to thrive. This is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to develop your skills, grow your confidence, and be part of something truly rewarding.

What You'll Do:
  1. Work collaboratively with the Team Leader to create a positive, engaging, and safe environment for children and young people.
  2. Lead and supervise stimulating activities tailored to individual abilities, whether one-on-one or in small groups.
  3. Encourage and empower children to participate in activities that spark their interests and creativity.
  4. Ensure the social, emotional, communication, and physical needs of each child are met with respect to their cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds.
  5. Use a variety of communication methods to connect with children in ways that suit them best.
  6. Provide dignified personal care and physical assistance as needed.
  7. Monitor and communicate any concerns or changes regarding children to the Team Leader and staff.
  8. Keep session reports and records up to date.
  9. Follow risk assessment guidelines and stay informed on individual care plans.

Requirements:
  1. Must be at least 18 years old.
  2. Ability to travel confidently, either with personal transport or via public transport.
  3. Familiarity with the local area is a plus!
