Do you have data protection experience, and are you seeking a new contract in Warwick? Jonathan Lee Recruitment is looking for a Subject Matter Expert - Data Privacy Law to join a world-leading Automotive company, and the role comes with a contract rate of £40.51 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35). This contract is initially for 8 months and will require being on site in Gaydon 1-2 times a week.

As a Subject Matter Expert - Data Privacy Law, you will review and risk-assess complex product engineering projects that handle personal data in line with the EU and UK data protection legislation (EU/UK General Data Protection Act, GDPR).

In your first week in this role, you can expect to:

1. Act as a Subject Matter Expert within the Data Advisory team within Product Engineering.
2. Review and risk assess complex Product Engineering projects that handle personal data in line with the EU and UK Data Protection Legislation (EU/UK General Data Protection Act, GDPR).
3. Advise Engineering colleagues on the Privacy requirements that their project must comply with by identifying and articulating:
1. High risk processing
2. Complex data flows
3. The role of third parties handling data
4. International data transfers
5. Industry-specific guidelines
6. Data minimisation techniques
7. Data subject rights adherence

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

1. Extensive experience working as a dedicated Privacy professional.
2. Previous experience advising on technical/technology-based processes e.g. Automotive, Engineering, IT, Software Development, Banking.
3. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
4. Ability to communicate complex legal arguments to Engineering colleagues.
5. Proven experience of managing a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
6. Ability to problem solve.

Education

1. CIPP/E qualification or Law Degree; or Engineering / IT Degree; or Qualified Lawyer.
