Subject Lead for Accounting job summary
  • To lead the successful delivery of Accountancy, Mathematical Studies and GCSE Resits across the school.
  • To inspire and enthuse members of the team, with a clear vision for the future direction of Accountancy, Mathematical Studies and GCSE Resits.
  • To develop an innovative and progressive curriculum in Accountancy, Mathematical Studies and GCSE Resits.
  • To work with the Director of Learning to undertake regular audits and quality assurance checks within Accountancy, Mathematical Studies and GCSE Resits to ensure that the highest standards are being achieved.
  • To lead the development of effective scaffolding within schemes of learning at KS5 so that every young person makes progress in their learning.
  • To keep up-to-date about subject development and to take part in relevant CPD for this purpose, disseminating to other staff where appropriate.
  • To monitor student performance based on internal assessment data as well as working with the Director of Learning to review external examination results and to plan effective interventions as appropriate.
  • To promote and lead on the delivery of all extra-curricular activities including KS5 University master classes.
  • To act as a role model to others, demonstrating high standards of professionalism in all aspects of the role.
  • Provide the Maths DoL with relevant student performance information as part of the faculty's self-evaluation cycle.
  • In collaboration with the Maths DoL, identify and implement strategies to address improvement and intervention needs.
  • To ensure, with support from the Director of Learning, that appropriate arrangements are made for examination entries and statutory requirements.
