Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with our client, a leading contractor specialising in civil engineering within major infrastructure sectors, including nuclear, highways, and large-scale projects. With a strong focus on safety, quality, and sustainability, they are committed to delivering complex engineering solutions that support the UK's infrastructure growth. We are looking to recruit a Sub Agent for its Sizewell C site.

The Sub Agent role is vital for ensuring the successful delivery of this exciting project and comes with a salary up to £53,000, car allowance, and private health care.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Project Manager or Site Agent you will:

1. Support the Site Manager and step in during absences to manage site operations.
2. Oversee a section of the project, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and environmental management.
3. Develop and manage detailed construction programmes, coordinating with engineering staff and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of key activities.
4. Produce, review, and manage method statements and other site documentation.
5. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, to ensure smooth site operations.
6. Lead and develop the site engineering team, fostering a strong, communicative environment.
7. Monitor financial performance of your section, providing updates to the commercial team.
8. Uphold the company’s health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) standards.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

1. A strong understanding of the CDM Regulations, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
2. Proven experience in civil engineering, with the ability to manage complex site programmes and support project delivery.
3. Excellent communication skills and leadership abilities.
4. Knowledge of producing Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets, and safe systems of work.
