Role overview
We’re looking for the newest member of our Student Communications and Engagement team – someone who is creative, enthusiastic, proactive and passionate about making a positive impact through communication, content and campaigns.
Our team are the central service for student communications, working across multiple channels that include email, social media, the website, student intranet, blogs, digital signage and more. We create both written and multimedia content, working across our channels to engage students with major updates, events, opportunities and more. We’re a very collaborative team, working closely with student-facing colleagues across the University of Salford, championing the student experience and putting students at the heart of everything we do.

A bit about our department and who we work with
The Student Communications and Engagement team sits within the directorate of Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations, working directly alongside colleagues responsible for internal and external communications. We also work very closely with colleagues in our student services teams, such as Wellbeing, askUS Enquiries, Careers, the Library, the SU and more.
Our directorate is responsible for the core range of activities that promote and engage with our external environment and stakeholders. Made up of the Marketing and Communications, Student Recruitment and Outreach, and External Relations teams, we work together to plan and deliver key activities that support the University’s ambitions for growth, diversity and an increased profile.

Please note the vacancy closes at 23:55 on the above date. Our interview process for this role is two stages, with the first stage consisting of a practical task that accurately reflects work you would undertake in this role. This task has a one-week deadline and will likely take place from 9-16 April. The second stage of the interview process is a face-to-face interview.
While this is a full-time role, we are willing to consider this role as a part-time role in a job-sharing arrangement for the right candidates.
