Role Summary

This post will provide researchers with French and Spanish language support, through the sourcing and translation of evidence of the researchers' impact outside of academia, and where necessary, acting as a translator in meetings between researchers and external stakeholders. The post will be line managed by the College's Research Impact Development Partner and supported by the College's two Research Impact Development Managers.

Main Duties

1. Act as a translator for researchers in meetings with external stakeholders
2. Provide translation of impact evidence documentation
3. Conducting web searches and contacting organisations on behalf of researchers to collect research data about impacts taking place outside the UK
4. Carry out administrative tasks related directly to the delivery of the research impact
5. Promote equality and value diversity acting as a role model and fostering an inclusive working culture

Person Specification

Essential criteria:

1. Degree or equivalent
2. Fluent in French and Spanish
3. Ability to analyse information and communicate effectively
4. Ability to access and organise resources successfully
5. Attention to detail
6. Knowledge of the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010, and how to actively ensure in day-to-day activity in own area that those with protected characteristics are treated equally and fairly

Desirable criteria:

1. Some proficiency in Basque would be useful but is not integral to the role.
2. Previous experience of supporting or delivering research impact within a Higher Education Institution.
