Are you passionate and inspired about design solutions? Keen to work as part of a small team that is really going places? Keen to become a Chartered Engineer asap?

Do you enjoy fancy and complex structural challenges but understand that the "bread and butter" work also needs to be done? Do you enjoy thinking up solutions that will work while saving your clients money and meeting their criteria?

The company Director is a respected Author, MICE and MIStructE qualified, a fantastic mentor and innovator. He has worked in large practices previously and on some spectacular projects and is on the IStructE Surrey Council Councils Committee. The practice currently has 5 staff and is looking to grow further, but plans to always remain a small, niche design studio.

The consultancy has been running over 13 years and has won multiple awards, for best business innovation, best professional practice, engineering awards and entrepreneurship.

This role would suit an ambitious structural engineer with a few years of design experience who is looking to progress and grow their career.

You need to be hands on with the design, a can do problem solver, good with clients and happy to assist in all aspects of the business, networking with clients, report writing, hands on design, site visits etc.

Projects are generally in the region of £2-3m but can be smaller or up to £20-30m in value. The workload is very varied so you must be able to juggle working on many projects at once, enjoy variety, attending site, writing reports, liaising with clients, networking and business development. Examples of schemes include basements, lofts, community buildings, art installations and unusual structures, staircases, temporary works, new builds and refurbs. They also do some pro bono charity work.

The firm believes that engineering should be fun and they are a holistic, productive and flexible practice, where teamwork and a good work-life balance is considered very important. They can offer flexible working hours, work from home Fridays, 25 days holiday increasing with length of service, plenty of social interaction and constant learning and development.

The offices are a 10 minute walk from Twickenham station and in a good location with green space, shops, restaurants and pubs.

The firm do not hold a sponsor license.

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
