Job description

My client is a well-established and very successful industrial concrete floor sub-contractor based near Preston. They are looking for a Structural Engineer to join their in-house design team. They are one of the largest and most experienced contractors of their type in the UK and have a full order book going forward.

This role will see you working as the senior member of the design team, designing varied ground floor slab solutions.

Key Duties include the following:

1. Produce calculations, models, reports, and presentations to a high standard.
2. Presenting your designs at internal workshops and chairing external meetings with clients and external consultants when required.
3. Coordinating your work with other members of the team and contributing to design team meetings.
4. Communicating with the operations team keeping them up to date of design changes.
5. Mentoring and assisting trainees and less experienced Engineers.

Your Skills & Experience should include:

1. Design knowledge, from working on a wide range of projects and using British and European codes of practice.
2. Ability to produce drawings using AutoCAD.
3. Experience using common analysis software (including or similar to CSC Fastrak, TEDDS, ROBOT, ETABS and SAFE) and willing to quickly learn to use new analysis packages as required.
4. Be a Chartered Member of the ICE or IStructE with the Engineering Council UK or equivalent body.
5. A Bachelor's degree BEng / BSc or Master's degree MEng / MSc in a relevant discipline.
6. Drivers Licence.

What is on offer:

1. To £45K or daily rate option.
2. Company Car.
3. 22 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.

Hours:

1. Full-time 40 hours per week.
2. Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00 with an hour for lunch.
