Exciting opportunity for a Strategic Sourcing Delivery Manager to join this global Energy company for a 6 - 12 month initial contract - Excellent Day Rate.

This is an exciting time to join this world-leading Energy company as it evolves from a traditional Oil & Gas enterprise into a future-focused Energy leader. This transformation includes the establishment of a highly successful new Power Trading desk within the Energy Trading team and ventures into cutting-edge solutions that address the evolving demands of the Energy sector. These initiatives include advanced Gas infrastructure, LNG technology, effective Energy Storage systems and Green Energy solutions. These innovations create opportunities for exceptionally talented individuals to contribute to the success of this evolution, working alongside some of the industry’s top professionals and leveraging the very latest technology.

Strategic Sourcing’s vision is to translate the business strategy into a fit-for-purpose sourcing strategy, ensuring strategic visibility and alignment across our Business Portfolios and Capability Centres. We collaborate with suppliers to accelerate the Powering Progress transition towards net-zero, aiming to attract, select, and manage the right set of strategic relationships to drive business growth over the next 2-5 years.

Our goal is to build a critical capability that accelerates the effective delivery of our long-term (2-5 years) digital transformation roadmap.

  5. Relationship Management: Build and maintain robust relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment with commercial and procurement objectives.
  6. Decision-Making: Exhibit sound judgment in decision-making, balancing progress with stakeholder alignment, and incorporating commercial and procurement insights.
  7. Commercial Excellence: Demonstrated expertise in reviewing RFPs and SOWs. Skilled in establishing and monitoring service level agreements (SLAs), metrics, and KPIs to secure best-in-class sourcing deals and foster strategic partnerships.
  8. Autonomy: It is essential that this person can work autonomously and be trusted and empowered to make key business decisions without the supervision of a direct report.

Qualifications:

  1. Writing high-quality, clear, actionable advisory documents and delivering them through various media.
  2. Proven experience in engaging with senior stakeholders.
  3. Expertise in leveraging commercial excellence and deal-making.
  4. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics.
  6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, crucial for successful deal-making.
  7. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, driving value through commercial improvement and innovation.
  8. Experience in deploying major global transformational projects (e.g., ERP).
  9. Proficient project management skills, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
  10. Strong change management skills, adept at guiding organizations through transitions and transformations.
  11. Expertise in project delivery, utilizing advanced tooling and enablers to ensure efficient and effective execution.

Key Contributions delivered by SS Delivery Manager:

  1. Transformational Change Manager: Managed stakeholder engagement and communications, replicating successful methodologies to achieve positive outcomes.
  2. Strategic Sourcing Delivery Manager: Engaged with senior stakeholders to define and deliver Opportunity Charters, crafted Supplier Engagement Packs.
  3. Facilitation of supplier workshops (SSW, Project Arrow etc..)
  4. Content Management: Managed all Strategic Sourcing content assets and MS Teams platforms, ensuring quality assurance throughout the process lifecycle.
  5. Project Delivery: Delivered five key Strategic Sourcing projects in 2024, with a total deal value of ~$300m over three years.
  6. Continuous Improvement: Contributed to the team’s strategic development by providing advisory support, enhancing processes, and collaborating with senior leadership.
  7. Project Management: Oversaw the end-to-end lifecycle of deal-making, ensuring timely delivery, resource allocation, and risk management throughout the project phases.

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
