Job Description

We’re recruiting for a Strategic Relationship Manager to manage, develop and drive a portfolio of Lender and third party relationships required to achieve the growth and adoption objectives across L&G Mortgage Services (LGMS). As part of the LGMS distribution team, identify, engage and unlock target distribution opportunities whilst continuing to manage, drive and retain existing relationships. To engage with key internal stakeholders, including counterparts across L&G Group, and to develop an effective internal network that allows the development of commercial opportunities and proposition ideas.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the Head of Strategic Accounts with pitch development and delivery across all aspects of the sales lifecycle, ensuring LGMS is the partner of choice and achieving LGMS objectives.
  • Developing and managing a personal pipeline of prospects, winning new deals across all UK distribution channels, and developing current relationships with the assistance and guidance of the distribution teams.
  • Developing robust prospect and client relationships, aligning and engaging key stakeholders at all levels, and assisting in the development of strategic distribution plans to ensure LGMS is selected as the partner of choice during formal tender or partner selection processes.
  • Providing input into proposition development by tailoring propositions to win and retain LGMS partners, understanding business challenges, and creating innovative solutions through detailed questioning and leveraging internal and external networks.
  • Managing a portfolio of existing lenders and 3rd parties, ensuring all commercially viable business is retained and developed, and implementing business plans, heatmaps, SLAs, and contractual agreements to achieve LGMS objectives.
  • Supporting the Head of Strategic Accounts with governance and processes involved in assessing new and existing clients, participating in internal governance committees, and ensuring alignment with LGMS strategy.
  • Seeking feedback from customers to identify areas for improvement within product design, literature administration, and sales processes, and providing information to relevant areas where appropriate.

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • High level Customer and Account Management experience in a highly competitive environment, developing proposition initiatives, maximising existing business opportunities.
  • Engagement, influencing, and presentation skills – in person & online.
  • Strategy, leadership, business planning and commercial relationships.
  • This role requires an extensive network of external contacts and ideally, a detailed understanding of the UK Mortgage market.
  • CeMAP or equivalent is desirable.
